Gräshoppa Floor Lamp
The Gräshoppa Floor Lamp has been created by Greta Magnusson Grossman for the brand Gubi. First introduced in 1947, Gräshoppa was a classic of post-war American design. Inspired by the slimline form of grasshoppers, it has been reissued by Gubi, allowing a new generation of design lovers to discover Grossman's unique artistic vision.
The Gräshoppa Floor Lamp stands on three legs, and features a slanted main stem combined with a couple of shorter supports. The frame of the lamp has been made from tubular steel, and bends into a right angle at the peak, where it allows a 15cm diameter conical steel shade to focus light downwards. The shade is mounted on a brass joint which can be directed as owners desire, and the shape of the shade ensures that glare is kept to a minimum at all times.
The Gräshoppa Floor Lamp measures 125.5cm tall, is 37.5cm wide and 43.5cm deep. The lamp comes with a 215cm long cable attached which also includes the switch, while the whole piece weighs just 2.5kg thanks to its streamlined composition. The lamp uses a single LED bulb and the bulb with the appropriate E14 socket can be ordered as needed.
