Semi Suspension Lamp Ø30cm
The Semi Suspension Lamp Ø30cm has been created by Bonderup & Thorup for the brand Gubi. Designed in 1968, this lamp was a collaboration between its two designers for a competition at an art school. It won first place and later became a best-selling Danish lamp.
The Semi Suspension Lamp Ø30cm resembles a pair of two-quarter circles that have been joined to each other back to back or inversely. It has a distinct shade made of enamelled metal that is arch-shaped. It is made of spun aluminium that is heavily varnished or polished for a high gloss finish that gives reflective light. Its shape can be compared to that of a flute that is narrow and open wide at the bottom. It casts direct light downwards from its flared bottom end.
The Semi Suspension Lamp Ø30cm has a height of 15cm and a diameter of 30cm. Its cable is made of fabric and has a length of 400cm and the canopy has a diameter of 11.5cm. It is possible to dim the lamp, but a dimmer will have to be purchased separately. It works with an E14 socket. It is available in a selection of earthy and neutral colours.
